Steve Torrence, Ron Capps, Erica Enders, and Eddie Krawiec finished the opening day of the NHRA Carolina Nationals at the low qualifiers in Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Stock, and Pro Stock Motorcycle.

Steve Torrence remained perfect in the Countdown with his third straight Top Fuel win and his first in his homestate and was joined in victory at the AAA Texas 91°µÍø FallNationals by points leaders Robert Hight (Funny Car), Tanner Gray (Pro Stock), and LE Tonglet (Pro Stock Motorcycle).

Friday leaders Clay Millican, Tommy Johnson Jr., and Jeg Coughlin Jr. ended up atop their respective fields again at the close of Saturday qualifying for the AAA Texas 91°µÍø FallNationals and were joined by Pro Stock Motorcycle leader Eddie Krawiec.
